How NHR's Smart Sensors Boosted Production Efficiency at a Chicken Egg Farm

NHR Smart Agriculture System & chicken farm

A chicken egg farm in the countryside of a small town in the Chile was experiencing a problem that was frustrating the grower. The egg production in one of the areas was significantly lower than that of other areas, and they were not able to identify the root cause of the problem. The grower had been implementing different strategies and modifying the environment to enhance production but the results had been marginal.

The grower then sought the assistance of NHR to help find a solution. NHR proposed a smart agriculture system implemented with wireless temperature and humidity sensors fixed onto the posts of each area where the chicken eggs were laid. Originally, 56 of the sensors were installed to capture the temperature and humidity of the area, and the data collected from these sensors were displayed on NHR s SentrolCloud platform system. SentrolCloud allowed the grower to visualize the heat map of the entire chicken egg farm.

Upon analyzing the data, they realized there were significant differences between areas with higher and lower temperatures. This was the root-cause of their production problem. With a better understanding of the temperature differences, the grower was able to implement a solution to solve the problem and further improve production.

Empowered by the success of the trial, the grower decided to expand their chicken egg farm three times larger. They also invested in NHR's wireless sensors so that they could monitor the farm's real-time conditions. This allowed them to preempt any potential problems and provide the chickens with the optimal temperature and humidity conditions for egg production, thereby improving their production efficiency and profitability.

In conclusion, NHR's smart temperature and humidity sensors played a crucial role in assisting a chicken egg farm in identifying a production problem and improving their egg production efficiency. The success of the implementation led the grower to expand the farm size and invest in more sensors to monitor the farm's real-time conditions for preemptive measures.
